AFTER THE FALL // INDIVIDUAL RULE ENTRY

Rule 04Updated July 20, 2026

Communication Rules

This is an individual rule page from the official After The Fall RP rules archive for players researching the server and its DayZ roleplay standards.

IC Communication

IC communication must take place through in-game VOIP or in-game notes.

IC pinboards in Discord are allowed.

Our Discord has a custom bot for creating radio channels. These may be used for double-micing while using in-game radios, since radios can be unreliable.

The custom radio channels are the only approved form of IC voice communication outside the game itself.

If you are within voice range of another player, you must use in-game voice for IC communication.

OOC Communication

OOC voice communication is not permitted while in-game.

If you are on a call while playing, you must mute or deafen.

Do not use outside communication to gain an IC advantage.

OOC communication should be used sparingly and only when necessary.

Radio & External Communication Restrictions

Hostile initiation may not be made via Discord radio channels, IC pinboards, or other external communication channels.

Hostile initiation must happen in-game and in a way the target can reasonably hear and respond to.

Downed, unconscious, or incapacitated players due to an RP reason may not communicate IC through radio, Discord radio, notes, or any other communication method until revived and capable of speaking.

Directly impersonating another person over the radio is not allowed. Any attempted impersonation must include clear differences in wording or message style so others have a fair chance to recognize and call it out.

Mute & Non-Verbal Characters

Mute or non-verbal characters are allowed.

You must inform staff during your whitelist ticket if your character is mute or non-verbal.

There must be a valid RP reason for the character being mute or non-verbal.

These characters may not be used to avoid interaction, consequences, or roleplay.

Voice Changers

Voice changers are allowed only if they are high-quality and do not disrupt roleplay.

If you would like to use a voice changer, you must have a valid RP reason for it in your character’s backstory during your whitelist ticket.

Staff may deny or revoke permission to use a voice changer if it negatively affects RP quality.
